Jamieson Deguzman is the co-founder and director of the Groovy G's, a Vancouver-based Funk Styles Crew. The roots of the crew trace back to a small garage... equipped with an old speaker system.
The group started with Jamieson teaching his cousin what he could from video & internet forums about popping. Three years later the crew now made up of 8 people, learn and train with the original creators and pioneers of the dance themselves. None of them expected that their simple love to learn this dance would take them this far, and their passion, skill, and influence in the local scene seems only to grow more and more exponentially.
Today you can find Jamieson and the G's teaching and giving demos at local highschools & universities, as well as performing. They've recently had the honor of performing alongside Mr. Wiggles & his son, Unico. Their goal is simple: to teach and spread the funkstyles culture in Vancouver, and meet others who love the dance as much as they do!
